چکیده
This study was aimed to investigate thecurrent insecticide resistance status in malaria vector mosquitoes from Dogbo district South-western Benin, West Africa. Larvae and pupae of Anopheles gambiae s.l. populations were collected the breeding sites March July 2020 during first rainy season Couffo department using dipping method. WHO susceptibility tests conducted on unfed female aged 2-5 days old. bioassays performed with impregnated papers permethrin (0.75%), deltamethrin (0.05%), cyfluthrin (0.15%), lambdacyhalothrin (0.05%) dichlorodiphenyltrichloroethane (DDT) (4%). An. gambiaes.l. resistant permethrin, deltamethrin, cyfluthrin, DDT. There is cross-resistance both pyrethroid DDT insecticides. However, physical barrier Long Lasting Insecticidal Nets (LLINs) which are regularly distributed free by Beninese National Malaria Control Programme throughout entire country increase coverage LLINs still important despite observed.

Multiple insecticide resistance mechanisms in Anopheles gambiae and Culex quinquefasciatus from Benin, West Africa.
Because free-insecticide treated net distribution is planned in Benin (West Africa) during the next few years, we investigated the type, frequency and distribution of insecticide resistance mechanisms in Anopheles gambiae and Culex quinquefasciatus mosquitoes in four localities selected on the basis of contrasting agricultural practices, use of insecticides and environment. Bioassays with WHO d...
متن کاملMultiple Insecticide Resistance in Anopheles gambiae s.l. Populations from Burkina Faso, West Africa
Malaria control programs are being jeopardized by the spread of insecticide resistance in mosquito vector populations. The situation in Burkina Faso is emblematic with Anopheles gambiae populations showing high levels of resistance to most available compounds. Although the frequency of insecticide target-site mutations including knockdown resistance (kdr) and insensitive acetylcholinesterase (A...
متن کاملMalaria vector control in South Africa.
Malaria vector control is primarily insecticide based and relies on indoor residual spraying (IRS) and the distribution of long-lasting insecticide-treated bednets (LLINs). These interventions have generally proved effective where appropriately implemented. However, the increasing incidence of insecticide resistance in target vector populations can, and in several cases already has, undermined ...
متن کاملMonitoring Pyrethroid Insecticide Resistance in Major Malaria Vector Anopheles culicifacies: Comparison of Molecular Tools and Conventional Susceptibility Test
<Anopheles culicifacies is a main malaria vector in southeastern part of Iran, bordring Afghanistan and Pakistan. So far, resistance to DDT, dieldrin, malathion and partial tolerance to pyrethroids has been reported in An. stephensi, but nothing confirmed on resistance status of An. culicifacies in Iran. Methods: In current study, along with WHO routine susceptibility test with DDT (4%), di...
متن کاملExploring Mechanisms of Multiple Insecticide Resistance in a Population of the Malaria Vector Anopheles funestus in Benin
BACKGROUND The insecticide resistance status of the malaria vector Anopheles funestus and the underlying resistance mechanisms remain uncharacterised in many parts of Africa, notably in Benin, West Africa. To fill this gap in our knowledge, we assessed the susceptibility status of a population of this species in Pahou, Southern Benin and investigated the potential resistance mechanisms. METHO...
